The Family Support Group that meets in Newton Wellesley Hospital on the second Tuesday of each month will go back to starting at 7:30 in February.

A FREE Educational Course for Family Members, Partners, and Friends e NAMI Family to Family course provides a broad perspective designed to better understand and support your loved ones, while taking care of your own needs. Meet others who share your struggle, compare notes, and gain new insight.
There are 12 class sessions. Each class explores and highlights the latest thinking about:
- How to manage crises, solve problems and communicate effectively
- Taking care of yourself and managing your stress
- Finding and using local supports and services
- Up-to-date information on mental health, current treatments, including evidence-based therapies
- The impact of mental illness on your family
All instruction and course materials are free for class participants.
Pre-registration is required.
Date and Time: Wednesday evenings starting January 16 through April 3, 2019

Date Change for Wellesley Hills Family Support Group
The Wellesley Hills Family Support Group will be meeting on the 2nd Wednesday in November (11/14/18) because the 3rd Wednesday of the month is the night before Thanksgiving and many of our members cannot attend.
Crisis Intervention Training – what is it?
The Newton Wellesley affiliate of NAMI will be presenting a program to update us on the status of Crisis Intervention training in our area.
Kati Mapa, Director of Policy and Planning for the Criminal Justice Diversion Project at NAMI MASS, will assemble a panel of a social worker, and police to present their experience with the use of Crisis Intervention Training.

The NAMI Newton Wellesley affiliate Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday night, Oct. 23rd, at 7:30 pm in the Bowles 2 Conference Room of Newton Wellesley Hospital. Come listen to our plans for the year, and see where you fit in. We will have a update of the changes we are making. We will also give you an opportunity to participate and celebrate with us.
